Cinnamon Tincture
Cinnamomum verum
Cinnamon has many properties, which may include:
Antioxidant
Cinnamon contains polyphenols and other antioxidants that may protect the body from oxidative damage caused by free radicals. These antioxidants may also help fight infections and repair tissue damage.
Anti-inflammatory
Cinnamon's antioxidant properties may also help reduce inflammation.
Antimicrobial
Cinnamon has a hydrophobic nature that may allow it to penetrate biofilms and inhibit bacterial growth.
Anti-aging
Cinnamon may help assist with skin elasticity loss and collagen breakdown. You can try mixing cinnamon powder with honey to make a face mask.
Other properties
Cinnamon may also have antidiabetic, anticancer, lipid-lowering, and cardiovascular-disease-lowering properties. Some studies have also shown that cinnamon may help with neurological disorders like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Cinnamon essential oil may also be used in aromatherapy or massage.
In addition to being an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antimicrobial, anticancer, lipid-lowering, and cardiovascular-disease-lowering compound, cinnamon has also been reported to have activities that may assist against neurological disorders, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.
